GringoWasi has built a good reputation since opening, receiving “Certificates of Excellence” every year since 2014, and “Travelers Choice Awards” every year since 2015, both from Trip Advisor. In addition to these they have also received a “Greenpartner” ranking in Trip Advisor's Green Leaders program and have received Booking.com's guest review awards for 2015 and 2016 as well.
The property itself is a typical adobe construction, although some modern elements have been added. The building is 2 story with 5 gust rooms on the second floor, 2 rooms have private en-suite bathrooms and 3 rooms share a bathroom. There is a 6th room that is currently being uses as storage, but this room could easily be converted to a guest room if desired, additionally the rooms are all large enough that one could re-model and add additional rooms if desired.
The ground floor contains the owners bedroom with en-suite bathroom, a large common/sitting room, a kitchen, large dining room with ˝ bathroom, small storage room, and a laundry room. There is also a patio area (115 m2) as well as an garage type entrance that will allow access for a car. Above the laundry room there is also a small deck that affords beautiful views of the valley, and is the location of 2 reserve water-tanks.
The Town of Huarocondo sits in a beautiful valley that is mainly agricultural, so during the summer months the valley is a patchwork of greens, whites, purples and other colors depending on the crops being grown. The town has many celebrations throughout the year, with the two largest being the Virgen del Carmen which starts on Jul 15th and continues through Jul 20th. The second large festival is the Lechon Festival which is celebrated on Nov 1st, and draws visitors from all of the surrounding villages and cities.
Currently GringoWasi is the only full time accommodation in the town, so any tourist wishing to spend time in Huarocondo, have only one option. While the property has been run as a bed and breakfast since opening in 2012, it would also make a suitable yoga retreat, or healing center due to the peacefulness of the town, and the amazing energy that the surrounding mountains impart. Currently there is also a road under construction between Huarocondo and the town of Pachar in the Sacred Valley (close to Ollantaytambo), once this road is completed (estimated 2018) it will shorten the drive between Cusco and Ollantaytambo by about 30 minutes, meaning that many of the tour buses will start passing right past Huarocondo, which will improve the visibility of the town and property, as well as make Huarocondo a much more convenient location for tourists to stay.
The business is being sold complete and includes the property, all business related items (so it will be turn key), as well as the web domain name, any reservations that are currently on the books, and the owners will include 30 days of in house training.
